Athletic Trainer - Sports Medicine
Full Time, 9am-5:30pm, Monday-Friday

Responsibilities
The Athletic Trainer will feel comfortable working with middle school and high school athletes, coaches and parents. The Athletic Trainer will also work as a physician extender with a diverse patient population in the physician practice. Provides athletic training services at local area schools with youth league, middle and high school student-athletes under the direction of the team physician in accordance with state athletic training practice act. The Athletic Trainer will foster and maintain strong relationships between sports medicine teams, schools, youth organizations, athletes and providers.
Essential Functions:

Engage in the prevention, recognition, evaluation, immediate care, rehabilitation and reconditioning of student-athlete injuries.

Educate athletes, coaching staff and parents on various aspects of injury prevention, first aid and strength and conditioning.

Conduct taping and other pregame/pre-practice preparation.

Communicate confidentially with student-athletes, parents, athletic directors, coaches and physicians regarding student-athletes' playing status and ability to return to competition or practice.

Communicate with the Head Athletic Trainer on a regular basis.

Attend and provide medical response coverage for home athletic events.

Refer athletes to appropriate physicians and specialists.

Perform administrative duties, including the maintenance of injury reports for student-athletes. Establish an Emergency Action Plan for all sports and venues.

Assist with pre-participation medical/orthopedic screenings.

Regularly use therapeutic modalities, therapeutic/rehabilitation equipment, first aid supplies, standard athletic training supplies and possibly a golf cart/gator.
Schedule: Monday–Friday, 9:00am–5:30pm
Qualifications
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor's degree required.
LICENSES AND CERTIFICATIONS:

Basic Life Support (BLS) upon hire required.

NATA BOC certification upon hire required.
-
Pennsylvania Athletic Training License upon hire required.
